Rockville, MD – February 18, 2026 – Mr. Taylor Jordan, Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Space Commerce (OSC), will deliver a keynote speech at SATELLITE x GovMilSpace 2026, the world’s largest satellite and space communications event uniting commercial innovators, government and military decision-makers, and end-users. Mr. Jordan will lead the Wednesday Opening General Session program on March 25 at 9 a.m., which is part of the four-day conference and exhibition taking place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Jordan was appointed to the role of Director of the Office of Space Commerce (OSC) by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in December 2025. He also serves concurrently in the Senate-confirmed role of as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Attendees will hear from the newly appointed OSC director as the agency is set to work with the industry on key space and satellite programs moving forward in 2026.

The NOAA Office of Space Commerce is critical to the satellite industry as the primary U.S. government advocate for commercial space technology and services. It bridges the gap between commercial operators and government policies, ensuring regulatory efficiency and promoting U.S. competitiveness. OSC also plays a key role in developing industry-wide technical standards, essential for safety and interoperability in space operations.

Mr. Jordan brings more than 15 years of space policy and operational experience to the role. He previously served nearly a decade on the staff of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology as the committee’s subject-matter expert on NOAA, environmental satellites, and civil space programs. In that capacity, he was the lead author of the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017. During President Trump’s first term, Mr. Jordan served as a senior policy advisor at NOAA, where he supported the agency’s satellite programs and provided strategic oversight of major space-system acquisitions. Most recently, he was a principal at Innovative Federal Strategies, advising commercial space and technology companies on legislative and executive-branch engagement.

“We are honored to have Mr. Jordan as the keynote speaker for the Opening General Session on Wednesday, and we are grateful for the Office of Space Commerce’s participation at SATELLITE x GovMilSpace. Mr. Jordan will provide key insight on how the industry can help NOAA OSC accomplish their missions, maintain U.S. and allied leadership in space, and realize the long-term potential of the space economy,” said Jeffrey Hill, Executive Chairman of SATELLITE x GovMilSpace.

The Wednesday Opening General Session is open to all SATELLITE x GovMilSpace attendees. Mr. Jordan will be introduced to the stage by Tom Stroup, president of the Satellite Industry Association (SIA).
